[edit] History
ProActive Software was founded on December 4, 2003 following the commercialization of ProWorkflow, the first product released and managed by the company. Julian Stone founded ProActive software, enlisting the help of Alan Barlow as Chief Technical Officer and John Walley for business advice (CEO of the Canterbury Manufacturers association).
Initially, software was sold through a code download model where a company initially buys the software then pays an annual licensing fee. The company later decided to move into SaaS (Software as a Service), partnering with FastServers.net to provide their applications to customers over the internet.
