Prix Eugene Adam
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Prix Eugène Adam is a Group 2 flat horse race in France for three-year-old thoroughbreds. It is run over a distance of 2,000 metres (approximately 1 mile 2 furlongs) at Maisons-Laffitte Racecourse in July.
It was first run in 1893 as the Prix Monarque, adopting its present title in 1911, in honour of Eugène Adam, a leading figure in French racing who died in 1904. After a long spell at Saint-Cloud, beginning in 1946, the race returned to its original venue, Maisons-Laffitte, in 1998. It has remained there since, with the exception of 2000 and 2001, when the race was staged at Deauville.
