Princess Resurrection (怪物王女 Kaibutsu Ōjo?, lit. Monster Princess) is an ongoing supernatural manga by Yasunori Mitsunaga. The story portrays a boy (Hiro) who encounters a young woman (Hime) whom he must serve. An anime adaptation of the series, by Madhouse, began airing on April 13, 2007 on TBS, BS-i, KBS Kyoto and its affiliated TV networks. The chief animation director and character designer for the anime series is Kazuya Kuroda. It is directed by Masayuki Sakoi.

The manga has been licensed by Del Rey Manga. The first volume released on May 1, 2007. The second volume released on August 28, 2007. The third volume is currently scheduled to be released in April 2008.

Hiro Hiyorimi is a boy who has just moved to the city to meet his sister. While walking down the sidewalk, he is suddenly hit by a car (crushed by construction beams in the anime). On the verge of death, he is seen by a young woman clad in gothic clothes. She then resurrects him, leaving him alive in the hospital morgue. He wakes up confused over what happened, only to encounter the woman again as she eliminates some wolf creatures. She addresses Hiro as "her servant" and introduces herself as "Hime" (Japanese for Princess). The story then follows Hiro as he assists Hime in killing creatures that have been sent by her siblings to attack her.

Hime (姫 Hime?) / Lillian (リリアーヌ Ririānu?)
The titular character of the series. She is the second princess of the royalty, daughter of the king of all monsters. She appears as a young aristocratic woman wearing Gothic clothing. Her real name is Lillian but she dislikes people calling her by it. Although her siblings are busy fighting for the throne, she shows no interest in it. She resurrects Hiro on a whim after he dies, thinking him interesting enough to be her servant. She is not as arrogant as she is playful, and she does not flinch at the sight of violence. In manga she uses her vassal to resurect warriors for the royalty (her blood) in anime she uses the flame of life. Her aristocratic nature is shown in her ability to leave hard labor to her servants without remorse. She is also not above destroying anything in her path to kill an enemy, and using any weapon at her disposal, such as a chainsaw, a defibrillator, a hammer, or various swords. Interestingly, she is only as physically strong as a normal human and sometimes requires that her servants put her out of trouble or help her defeat an enemy. She also does not hesitate to save her servants, even going as far as breaking the rules to do so.
In the Princess Rampage chapter of the manga, she shows a certain disgust or fright over a mouse Flandre found at the end of the chapter. She also becomes a temporary half-vampire in order to save Hiro in the manga chapter Princess Blood; her relationship with Hiro remains uncertain both in anime and manga however, and it is not known if she sees Hiro as a love interest or just a soldier of the royalty

Character Art

Hiro Hiyorimi (日和見日郎 Hiyorimi Hirō?)
A middle school boy who dies at the beginning of the series (in the manga he was hit by the station wagon Flandre is driving whereas in the anime he is hit by a falling iron pillar). He finds himself in Hime's service as he is bound to her because her blood (flame, in the anime) revived him. Though young and not very strong, Hiro manages to assist Hime (mostly by being a human shield) through his "half-immortality" that was given to him after his resurrection. At first he is rather involuntary in the battles but as he learns more about Hime, he is willing protect her. His body changes in the manga when Hime's life is in danger which was left out in the anime.
In the anime episode 24 Hiro realises he has developed feelings for Hime and tries to kiss her but, she smacks him in the face, not because she didn't want him to kiss her (this is uncertain), but because the gang was watching them, a theory made from what Reiri said in that moment "you're too slow Hiro"
Flandre (フランドル Furandoru?)
A gynoid in the service of Hime. She is sometimes nicknamed "Flan", she is small, and incredibly strong, as well as seemingly invincible. Although she puts on the same expression all the time, she knows when her friends are in danger. She assists Hime in moving objects and occasionally she helps Hiro. She only says one word: "Hooba" in the English version, "Fuga" (or sometimes Huga depending on the translation) in the Japanese. She has a special function in her eyes to view hard-to-see things, her vision has a German language HUD and she knows how to drive vehicles. Being a gynoid, her weight is a few tons and she runs out of power and needs recharging. Flandre can be seen recharging in a borg alcove (Star Trek) in the manga. Some translations name her as "Furandre". She is possibly a reference to Frankenstein's Monster.
In the anime special she went berserk when she wound up with a screw loose. Emile got Flanders to remedy that and prevented her from self-destructing.
Sawawa Hiyorimi (日和見紗和々 Hiyorimi Sawawa?)
Hiro's sister. Who is a maid employed by Hime. Her cooking is recognized by Hime as the best. She is seemingly oblivious to the supernatural aspects of Hime, nor does she seem to understand Hiro's explanation of his immortality. She lives the normal life with all the supernatural happening around her, and is completely oblivious to it. Sawawa is also known for having unusually large breasts. In the anime her surname is also Hiyorimi as she introduced herself to Hime. In the manga there is not much shown of her, but she appeared more in the anime where she is often shown eating parfaits at the café. A running gag in the anime involves her sitting up in shock whenever Hiro sustains an injury that would be lethal under ordinary circumstances only to calm down and go back to eating her parfait. She addresses Hime as "Oujo-Sama" (Miss).
Riza Wildman (リザ・ワイルドマン Riza Wairudoman?)
A half-breed girl who has a werewolf father, called Volg Wildman, and a human mother. She at first believes that her older brother was murdered by Hime, but later reconciles with Hime when she learns what really happened that night. In order to find who in the Royalty instigated her brother, she stays with Hime. Being of mixed blood she can only transform her arms up to her elbow and her combat capabilities can't compare to that of a pure breed, though she is physically stronger than a normal human. Her mixed blood also gives her heightened senses of hearing and smell. She appears to have feelings for Hiro and has "squishy" paws according to Hiro and one of his classmates. She and Reiri are natural enemies and they don't get along until later on. From working together in the battle against Kiniski and getting used to each-other's company, there is change　for the better in their relationship. It was revealed that she isn't a virgin in her conversation with Reiri. She particularly enjoys fast vehicles, much to Hiro's horror when he's dragged along.
Riza might be a mis-translation of the Japanese pronunciation of "Liza", as the 'R' and 'L' are allophones in Japanese
Reiri Kamura (嘉村令裡 Kamura Reiri?)
A female vampire who attends the same school as Hiro. She has long black hair, always dresses in a dark sailor fuku, and has idol status in her school. In the manga there are many scenes showing her in black underwear but in the anime those are reduced to panchira. She tried to get Hime's blood but failed. Later on she is banished from the vampire society for opposing Kiniski. She is then pursued by Kiniski and the other vampires, who burn down the abandoned church she was living in, therefore losing her place causing her to freeload at Hime's mansion. At first she greatly detests Riza but their relations change gradually for the better. Also may appear to have some type of feelings for Hiro but some fans also debate about her feelings for Riza. Other than the blood from Royalty, she also prefers blood from virgins and cute guys.
Sherwood (シャーウッド Shāuddo?)
Hime's little sister, the third princess of the Royalty. Her hair colour, eyes, and dress are similar to Hime's. She has the ability to freely control the man-eating plant Triffid, which she used in a failed attempt to kill Hime. She once harboured ill will toward Hime, but later reconciled, and has a big crush on Hiro and will almost do anything to make him her servant. After that she moved in to a mansion on the hill opposite Hime's mansion.
Francisca (フランシスカ Furanshisuka?)
The gynoid serving Sherwood. She dresses in maid costume and wears spectacles. She is the sister machine of Flandre and has equal abilities, with the exception of a superior intellect. She obeys Sherwood's instructions without questions. Excels in melee combat and can flick pellets at extremely high speed with her fingers.
Ryuu Ryuu (劉劉 Ryū Ryū?)
A panda revived by Sherwood's blood. Died when he fell out of the transportation container during transport to Sasana Zoo. (In the anime his death was later during Zeppeli's attack. The truth of the matter is that he was only knocked out during that battle, so he never died or was revived; Sherwood realized this only when she went to revive him. Sworn brothers with Kan Kan and Chou Chou (in reference to RoTK), the other two pandas in the zoo. It is unknown if the other two are blood warriors, but all three pandas are now living at Sherwood's residence.
Francette (フランセット Furansetto?)
A gynoid, like Flandre and Francisca, of the Royalty. Her master is Sylvia, the first princess of the Royalty, who is imprisoned by Kiniski. Sister machine to Flandre, her appearance is that of an adult female in a maid costume. She uses a large drill, which has replaced her destroyed left forearm as a weapon.
Did not appear in the anime.

[edit] Kiniski faction

Kiniski (キニスキー Kinisukī?)
A vampire, also referred as "Werewolf Killer Kiniski". A mysterious character with tidied rough long hair and mustache. He is a duke living in a castle at the edge of the Kingdom. Eyeing the throne of the Kingdom, he captured Hime and Sherwood's sister, the first princess, and confined her in his castle. Riza and Reira interfered and through the talk with Riza, it seems that he is a blood warrior too but it is unknown for which member of royalty he serves. He is the one who banished Reiri from the vampire circle by framing her with his crime of injuring Zeppeli, one of her own kind.
Did not appear in the anime but his role is filled by Duke Dracul in the anime.
Sylvia (シルヴィア Shiruvia?)
A member of the Royalty and Hime's older sister. She is shown wearing a dress while being blindfolded, gagged, and restrained by leather straps. A tap has been installed on her where blood can be collected.
Did not appear in the anime.

Zeppeli (ツェペリ Tseperi?)
A male vampire with dark skin, silver hair and a goatee. Owner of the Sasana Hospital which is the vampires' base. He pursues the blood of Hime too but prefers to execute plans behind the scenes. Because he had a cooperative relationship with Reiri, he became looked upon with hostility from the vampire society too.
Housei Sanagida (蛹田方正 Sanagida Housei?)
Director of the Sasana Hospital, a subordinate of Zeppeli.
Ciel (シエル Shieru?)
A tall android. Unlike Flandre, who can only say "Fuga", Ciel is capable of normal conversation. In addition to that he also understands Flandre's words. He has memories of working in the deuterium mine of the kingdom some three years prior to the start of the series. While escaping, he was touched by the view of the sea and longed to live a free life. He happened to meet Flandre, while walking in town and helped with the upkeep of Hime's mansion. However, he was in fact made by Zeppeli only ten days prior to the episode he featured in, and the twenty-seven years of memories he had, were implanted in him. He tried to capture Hime but was defeated by Sherwood and Francisca, and in revenge, went back to Zeppeli and self-destructed.

Emile (エミール Emīru?)
A member of the Royalty, brother to Hime. A youth with elegant looks who wears a decorative shirt. There is hostility between him and Hime, but he treasures their relationship and tries to keep it in balance. He can inflict a psychokinetic attack with just a glare, he is the only one that has this strange ability among the siblings of Royalty.
Keziah Bold (キザイア・ボルド Kizaia Borudo?)
A werewolf serving Emile. He smokes cigars and has four scars across his face. His father is Kadaria Bold. He and Riza's father were comrades in a past war and he respects Volg as a great warrior.
Flanders (フランダース Furandāsu?)
An android built by Emile. Somewhat a different representation of Flandre, it is a "butler robot" that is many times bigger and has a mechanical appearance. It communicates using the word "fuga".
Mermaid (人魚 Ningyo?)
Name unknown. A mermaid child who was held captive in a ghost ship, her flute music appears as SOS signals to other ships and thus draw them near. As she exchanged her will to talk for a human body, she would die if she spoke. However, as events unfold, she was forced to speak and was revived as Emile's blood warrior.

Severin (セブラン Seburan?)
Hime's brother, the fifth prince, is an ambitious member of the Royalty and aims for the throne. His appearance is that of a bishōnen with sharp eyes and blond hair, and he wears a black coat with feathers woven at the shoulder. He makes the opponents he has killed into his blood warriors, and has turned an entire town into zombies which is forbidden. He lost in a duel with Hime and was killed.
Franz (フランツ Furantsu?)
The android serving Severin. Dresses in black suit with bow-tie, a butler dress code. He has a characteristic scar by his mechanical left eye. Makes the sound "fuga". Self-destructed on his master's death.
Micasa (ミカサ Mikasa?)
Severin's blood warrior. A silent young girl with long black hair. Was killed in the past by Severin and revived to be his blood warrior, she seems to have a complex relationship with Severin. She is a human blood warrior like Hiro but enhanced by a parasitic bio-weapon implanted in her head that gives her heightened combat abilities.

It's certain that they are assassins sent by the Royalty or superior vampires, but it is unknown by who.

Riza's brother (リザの兄 Riza no Ni?)
Referred only as Wildman in the manga, in the anime his full name is revealed to be Lobo Wildman. A full-blooded werewolf warrior who respects and cares very much for Riza, his sister. He was forced to betray his old master, Hime, by Hime's brother who was holding Riza hostage, and died honourably in battle.

Three werewolf blood warriors. In the manga it is unknown to who sent them but in the anime they are under Severin.
"That" (アレ are?)
Appeared in "Princess Secret Room"(密室王女). A nameless spider-like monster referred to as "that" by Hime. In the manga, it enters a person and eats them from the inside, while in the anime it eats the person's soul. It's unknown who sent it in the manga version, while Zeppeli sent it in the anime.
Pharaoh (ファラオ Farao?)
It led an army of mummies to attack Hime's residence. Planting a scout beforehand, they strike when Hime is weakened by a cold. Hiro, Riza, and Flandre struggled to defeat the mummy army.
Bat Spider (コウモリグモ koumorigumo?)
As the name suggests, it's a monster with the features of a bat and spider. A large number are sent to attack Sherwood's residence. In the anime version the Bat Spiders are sent by Zeppeli.
Assailant of the nightmare (悪夢の攻撃者 akumu no kougeki sha?)
Caused everyone in the mansion to experience a nightmare which is reminiscent of the Akasabi Village events. Hime saw through it and returned to reality where she defeated the real enemy.
Clone plants (複製植物 fukusei shokubutsu?)
It clones the organism it stings, it becomes the person and substitutes it. It is said to come from a space meteor with "That".
Shapeshifter
Attempted to get close to Hime by participating in a race in the form of Hiro.

Posei Don (ポセイ・どん?)
  • Voiced by: Shigenori Souya
One of the merman race. But he is much bigger compared to humans and other merman, his size can be compared to mountains. He lost to Riza in a duel. In the manga he died after the duel but in the anime he is still living and fell in love with Riza. In the manga he was not given any name, the name Posei Don came from the anime.
Headless Horseman (首無し騎士 kubi nashi kishi?)
Appears at the Sasanagi Pass looking for his head. But unknown to him, it was Zeppeli who took his head. The head was retrieved by Hiro and Riza. In the manga the story started with Zeppeli taking the head, but in the anime it started with the race between Riza and the Horseman, with the head incident as a smaller sub-plot.
The paperbag man of Akasabi Village (赤錆村の紙袋男 akasabi mura no kamibukuro otoko?)
The culprit of a series of violent murders targeting females that happened 40 years ago at Akasabi Village, a village that gave way to a dam project. Hime and Hiro wandered to the now non-existent village during the witching hour to seek help to fix their broken down car.
His appearance is that of a fat middle-aged man wearing a singlet and suspender pants with a paper bag with eye holes over his head and a large sickle as weapon.
In the anime he is the leader of the party that opposes the dam project and he kills all who support the dam project despite age and gender. Unlike the Manga, his anime version has a much larger inhuman build. He left such a strong impression in Hiro and Hime that his form is later used by the dream assailant in the manga.
Fly Man (蠅男 hae otoko?)
A scientist with a fly head and human body. Trying to selling the biological weapon he developed to Hime, he traps her in a maze he constructed beneath the mansion but failed. The bio-weapon parasite on Micasa is made by him too.
Does not appear in the anime.

Master
  • Voiced by: Akio Katou
The owner of a café which Sawawa frequents as she loves the parfait the café makes. A moustached, dandy looking man. In the manga, he only appeared in one frame in the background but in the anime he appeared a number of times. But his parts largely has nothing to do with the main story.
He harbours feelings for Sawawa, however Sawawa doesn't seem to understand his advances. He treats her to free parfaits, gives her lottery tickets, and even wanted to rename the café "Sawawa", with his gifts becoming more elaborate each time. The name of the café is unknown in the manga, but in the anime it's called "Dandy (伊達男)".
Ryuu Ryuu and Francisca visited the café in the events of a drama CD.
Nozomi Kobuchizawa (小淵沢望 Kobuchizawa Nozomi?)
Hiro's friend. A bespectacled otaku-like boy. Called "Buchi" by Hiro. Once stalked Reiri and found out she is a vampire, but that part of his memory is then erased by Reiri.
In the anime he also secretly takes pictures of Hime, Sawawa and Riza. He especially interested in the well-endowed maid Sawawa. He sneaks into the mansion with Yoshida and Murayama to find out the relationship between Hiro and the girls.
Chikao Joujima (城島 親夫 Joujima Chikao?)
A security guard who enjoys hunting. He sacrificed himself to let Hime's group and other survivors escape when the supermarket was attacked by zombies, and was killed by Hime before he become a zombie himself. His name wasn't known until the fifth takubon.

Hiroko (ヒロ子 Hiroko?)
  • Voiced by: Mayumi Yoshida
Anime original character. A cat person found by Hiro when she was lying unconscious in the road. She is manipulated by a bell collar. She's very fond of Hiro for saving her. She was sent by Hime's brother to assassinate her, but was foiled when Reiri told Hime only seconds after Hiro intercepted their fight. At the end she ran away after she find out that she was an assassin.
Frog Ninja (カエル忍者 Kaeru ninja?)
Anime original character. A human-sized frog. Same as Hiroko, he is controlled by one of Hime's brothers. Attacked Sherwood but defeated by Francisca.
Yoshida (吉田 Yoshida?)
Went into Hime's mansion with Kobuchizawa and Murayama. He is interested in Hime and would like to be a slave and tortured by Hime. In the end he is wrapped to a ball with Kobuchizawa and Murayama and thrown away by Ryuu Ryuu.
Murayama (村山 Murayama?)
  • Voiced by: Eiji Hanawa
Went into Hime's mansion with Kobuchizawa and Yoshida. He likes strong women like Riza. In the end he is wrapped to a ball with Kobuchizawa and Yoshida and thrown away by Ryuu Ryuu.
Aron (アロン Aron?)
Anime original character. A famous female assassin of the shark family. Skilled in close combat, and uses retractable sharp fins on her arms as weapons. Was an acquaintance of Riza's brother during the time they were in the army. Although she kissed Riza, she claims tha she is only into married women. Attempted to kill Hime under orders from the royalty, but was defeated by Riza. Before dying, she entrusted Lobo's military dog tags to Riza.
Witch (魔女 Majo?)
Anime original character. A witch who lives in the Black Forest. She cares very much about beauty. In belief of the saying that possessing the spirit of the Royalty grants eternal youth, she travels through time and space to find Royalty. She can't stand the smell of gyoza. She holds a compact magic mirror and tried to suck Sherwood into it but in turn sucks Hiro, Riza, Francisca and Ryuu Ryuu into it too and overloaded the mirror. In the end she was sent away with facial lotion won by Sawawa in the lottery.
Monsters under the Witch (魔女の手下の怪物 majo no teshita no kaibutsu?)
  • Voiced by: Yasuhiro Mamiya
Anime original character. The three of them look like dark goblins. They are always hungry, and one of them ate the takoyaki Hiro bought and another ate the gyoza that was meant to be used to counter the witch.
Shigara (シガラ Shigara?)
Anime original character. A male raccoon race of the Kingdom. He is clad in clothing similar to D from Vampire Hunter D. He's not a bad person, and he readily helps anyone in need. Having lost his job, he became a vampire hunter hoping to use the bounty to feed his family. He's clumsy, not very good at vampire hunting, and mistakes Hime for a vampire. His numerous failed attempts annoy Zeppeli and Reiri. The two vampires later staged a show and got Shigara his bounty and thus got him to leave.
Dracul (ドラクル Dorakuru?)
Anime original character. The vampire that fills the role of Kiniski from the manga. Compared to Kiniski, Dracul has more of a tidied image. He is a man in his prime and has short hair. He has nothing to do with the first princess, but he seems to be under Severin. In episode 20 he kidnapped Hiro and banished Reiri like Kiniski did. In episode 21, he is defeated by the combined effort of Hime, Hiro, Riza and Reiri. He returned to his castle injured, and sought help from Severin
Judge (裁判長 Saibanchou?)
Anime original character. The judge in episode 24 has a different appearance than the one in the manga. This judge appears as a man wearing a large green hat. He appears listless and unmotivated in the monster court. He accepted Hime's suggestion of a duel, after which he revealed his true form.
Mo Gura (モ・グラ Mo Gura?)
Drama CD original character. A mole race who runs the travel agency "Underground Tourist". Mobilizing 500,000 moles he laid a railway in an underground tunnel and started the underground sightseeing train "Mogura Express". Offered Hime and her party a free tour during which he failed to kill Hime. This incident with a member of the Royalty, however, acted as an advertisement, and brought customers for his business.

With Hiro's life force fading and needing restoration, he slowly comes to realize that he has no choice but to be involved with Hime. As an invisible man enters the mansion to assassinate Hime, she goes wild with a chainsaw chasing him, and eventually even sets the mansion on fire.

03 "Princess Rampage"
"Bousou Oujo" (暴走王女) 		 April 27, 2007
Riza, half-sister of the werewolf Lobo Wildman killed by Hime in the first episode, comes to claim her revenge. But she does not yet realize that she herself was used as a chess piece to make Lobo betray Hime.

04 "Princess Negotiation"
"Koushou Oujo" (交渉王女) 		 May 4, 2007
Hime and company, with Riza in tow, travel to Hime's lake resort and end up being involved with a race of fish men after Hime's immortality powers. Riza declares her intention to stick close to Hime in order to find an opportunity to take her revenge on Hime's brothers.

05 "Princess Blood"
"Kettou Oujo" (血統王女) 		 May 11, 2007
Reiri, a beautiful vampire girl at Hiro's school, approaches and turns Hiro in order to gain access to Hime's house and obtain her powers by sucking her blood. However, Hime prepares a wide range of countermeasures.

06 "Princess Alliance"
"Doumei Oujo" (同盟王女) 		 May 18, 2007
Hime's sister Sherwood shows up one day, proposing an alliance against their other siblings. Hime refuses, but Sherwood's goal from the start was to plant a dangerous man-eating plant near the mansion.

Hiro loses consciousness while shopping and is taken to the hospital. He wakes up there only to be chased by a crazy doctor and his minions. Reiri tells Hime about Hiro's fate and Hime, together with Riza go to rescue him.

08 "Princess Secret Room"
"Misshitsu Oujo" (密室王女) 		 June 1, 2007
Rain, roads blocked by garbage. Hime, Riza and Hiro are forced to stay in the Sasana Motel until things are clear. Upon arrival, they find Reiri. But a monster sent by Zeppeli turns things creepier than it should be, except for Hime and Reiri who play chess.

Sherwood seems bored with her arrival at her new mansion since Franscesca is missing. Hime tells Hiro to go there and as he reaches it, she meets Franscesca carrying a panda. Later on, Sherwood is attacked by monster bats and Hime comes to help.

Flandre meets an android, Ciel and brings him back to be repaired. In return he does odd jobs around the house. He failed to kidnap Hime and finds out that all his memories were fake and that he was programmed by Zeppeli. He returns to Zeppeli and self-destructs.

11 "Princess Cat-Tongue"

Hiro finds Hiroko, a cat, by the road and takes her in. Hiroko, actually a cat-person, grows attached to Hiro. She turns out to be an unskilled assassin controlled by the bell on her collar. Shocked by her own behavior, she disappears.

12 "Princess Attrition"

Pharaoh, given the promise of eternal life upon Hime's death, sends his army of mummies to attack Hime. Hime having taken drowsy cold medicine (before knowing about the pending attack) entrusts her life with Hiro.

13 "Princess Sacrifice"

During a lunar eclipse, Hime and Hiro were pulled into the memory of Akasabi village and had to deal with a serial killer.

14 "Princess Dead Run"
"Shissou Oujo" (疾走王女) 		 July 13, 2007
Riza has been racing with a ghost knight on Sasaki Pass. One night, he lost his head and went berserk. Hiro, while helping to search for the knight's head, got kidnapped and turned into Zeppeli's "knight". Hime has to save him.
Weapon Used: Baseball Bat. 
15 "Princess Visitation"
"Houmon Oujo" (訪問王女) 		 July 20, 2007
Hiro's acquaintances find out that he's staying with 3 beautiful women. They confront him and ask Hime if they could be her servants. Hime agrees on condition that they go through an obstacle course in the house. A shape-shifter taking Hiro's form also joins the race to reach Hime first.

16 "Princess Succession"
"Keishou Oujo" (継承王女) 		 July 27, 2007
Riza, frustrated with training, heads to Hime's lake resort and meets Aron, a were-shark, who was good friends with Lobo Wildman (Riza's brother). Aron turns out to be an assassin of one of the Royalty sent to kill Hime. After being defeated by Riza, she asks Riza to avenge Lobo for her as well.

17 "Princess Maturity"
"Toshima Oujo" (年増王女) 		 August 3, 2007
A witch from the black forest goes after Hime's and Sherwood's spirit to get eternal youth.
Weapon Used: Dumplings. 
18 "Princess Hunter"
"Karyuudo Oujo" (狩人王女) 		 August 10, 2007
A raccoon became a vampire hunter in order to feed his family, but mistakenly attacks Hime believing her to be a vampire.

19 "Princess Ocean"
"Kaiyou Oujo" (海洋王女) 		 August 17, 2007
Hime, Hiro and Riza are trapped in a haunted ship and must find and rescue a mysterious mermaid in order to escape. Hime's older brother Emile is introduced.

20 "Princess Connection"
"Renketsu Oujo" (連結王女) 		 August 24, 2007
Hiro is kidnapped by a vampire named Duke Dracul. Riza and Reiri must enter the village of vampires to save him. 
21 "Princess Banishment"
"Tsuihou Oujo" (追放王女) 		 August 31, 2007
Hiro and his friend Buchi visits Reiri after she doesn't come out to school. However, when they get there, Dracul Duke tries to banish Reiri by sending in low-class vampires. Hime's team comes to help.

Hime is attacked by three werewolves at night and she and her team must take them down. Riza fights for her family's pride while Hiro is reminded again that he is a warrior protecting Hime's life.

Hime's team looks for the royalty who sent the werewolves and Dracul Duke. They end up in a town filled with zombies and must get themselves out.

Hime is accused of using zombies by the committee and stands before the judge. She and her brother Severin must battle in order to be freed.

Flandre goes on a rampage and seems to attack anyone that approaches her, including Hime. Guessing that Flandre is self-destructing, the group in vain tries to stop her.

[edit] Prologue message

At the beginning of manga there is a poetic message that reads:

"That is not dead which can eternal lie.
And with strange eons even death may die."

This poem is recited in many works of the Cthulhu Mythos by H. P. Lovecraft, where he attributes it to the Necronomicon, a fictional book. The poem is also briefly seen in the opening of the anime adaptation, though it is hard to read.

[edit] Anime vs Manga

  • In the manga, Hime uses her blood to revive Hiro as opposed to the "life flame" (or life energy) used in the anime. This in a great deal removes the blood/gore spirit of the story. [1]
  • In the Anime, Ryuu Ryuu is not a blood servant but still resides with Sherwood along with the other two pandas.
