Princess Irina (Irene) of Romania was born on 28 February 1953, in Lausanne, Switzerland. She is the third daughter of the former King of Romania, Michael I of Romania and his wife Queen Anne of Romania. On December 10, 1983, in Lausanne, she married John Krueger (born 3 August 1945), with whom she has two children. The couple has since divorced.
