Prince Nirajan Bir Bikram Shah Dev, (November 6, 1977–June 1, 2001) was a Prince of Nepal, younger brother of Crown Prince/King Dipendra, who fatally shot him and other royals at a dinner in 2001. Nirajan was next in line to the throne after Dipendra.
Just before he was shot, he had changed his Maruti Gypsy jeep to a new Toyota RAV4. Unconfirmed sources quoted that this new jeep was presented to him by his brother Dipendra. Just a couple of hours before the royal massacre, he was finishing an exam in financial management at Kathmandu College of Management. Nirajan had previously attended Budhanilkantha School in Kathmandu and Eton College, England, from September 1995 to July 1998.
