Primary labor market

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Primary labor market is the market consisting of high wage paying jobs, concrete careers and long term success. It is contrasted by the Secondary labor market, which consist of low-paying, "under the table" (non-taxable) jobs, and temporary positions. Also in primary labor market people get permanent jobs, upward mobility and they get social security. Genarally, "men" work in the primary labor market. On the other hand, in secondary labor market, there is limited mobility, the jobs are part-time (unknown or casual period), and there is no social security. More women work in this market. Primary labor market and Secondary labor market are important for division of labor.
