Pretty Scary Silver Fairy is Norwegian singer Margaret Berger's second album. Berger worked on the album for two years to find the sound she was looking for. The title comes from Margaret's wish to show something "pretty" and "scary" at the same time - "hard beats, but with a sweet melody on top". Pretty Scary Silver Fairy contains a mixture of electronica, dance and pop music.
The album was recorded in London, Trondheim, and Helsinki. Many of the lyrics were written by Berger in her teens and reflect her young age at the time. Pete Martin, the Finnish duo Jukka Immonen and Patric Sarin, and Hans Jørgen Støp co-wrote some of the tracks.
