They are doing a study on this at the VA hospitals about how it can treat PTSD nightmare symptoms in combat stress symptoms. I am just now starting to take it in 1mg capsule form.

It should perhaps be noted that prazosin stops nicotine self-administration in rats that have been pretreated with tranylcypromine. When not pretreated, the rats do not seek nicotine in the first place; the tranylcypromine, however, causes them to start doing so. Prazosin reverses this action. If there is research to substantiate that this effect is applicable to non-pretreated animals that do seek nicotine at baseline, then that should perhaps also be noted. 88.90.141.15 (talk) 13:17, 12 May 2008 (UTC)
