Power of the Dollar is an unreleased but heavily bootlegged album by rapper 50 Cent.[2] The album, which was originally set for a September 12, 2000 release,[3] was supposed to be his debut album with Columbia Records.[4]

Allmusic writes that the tracks utilize "penetrating wit and funk-infused beats, accompanied by grand orchestrations of commanding horns, pronounced percussion, and various string elements".[1] The first single, "How to Rob", was released on August 10, 1999.[5] In the song, 50 Cent comically explains how he would rob many prominent figures in the music industry. Several rappers including Jay-Z, Big Pun, DMX, and Wu-Tang Clan affiliates The American Cream Team replied to the song.[6]

The second single, "Thug Love" featuring Destiny's Child, was released on September 21, 1999.[7] A few days before 50 Cent was scheduled to film its music video, he was shot and confined to a hospital due to his injuries.[8][9] While in hospital, he signed a publishing deal with Columbia Records. However, he was dropped from the label after they found out he had been shot.[10] The track, "Ghetto Qu'ran", has been speculated to be the reason for the shooting.[11]
