Power folk refers to high energy music played on traditional folk instruments, but influenced by college rock, punk, and pop. Often power folk songs are remakes of traditional "worker songs".
Last.fm offers a power folk station.
Japanese musician Atsushi Shindo is considered a power folk artist. Irish bands Dropkick Murphys, The Dubliners, The Pogues and Flogging Molly are considered power folk. Australlian band Scrum is a power folk band.
