The Power Mac G5 Quad was a new generation of Power Macintosh computer that was unveiled by Apple on October 19, 2005. Unlike its predecessors, with two single-core 64-bit processors for a total of two processor cores, the aptly named Quad sports two dual-core 64-bit processors for a total of four processor cores.
