The result of the debate was

Not specifically a CC licence. When reading their licence, the company does not allow commercial use to create derivative works. Breno ^talk 01:49, 11 January 2008 (UTC)

That's not how I'd interpret the licence: Both commercial and non-commercial uses and derivative uses are specifically allowed, but attribution must only be kept for commercial uses. This seems to be a specific exemption for fan wallpapers, and desktops to be able to remove the watermark. There's nothing in that wording which would preclude wikipedia inclusion, especially since - precluding the above, the entire site is under a blanket CC70.52.182.154 (talk) 04:45, 11 January 2008 (UTC)

I dropped an e-mail to the info address on the site asking for clarification of the above. I haven't heard back from them yet, but the "press images" page has been changed and all content is now specifically released under a Creative Commons 2.5 attribution licence, which is clearly free enough per WP policy, so I assume someone there read my e-mail. 70.52.182.154 (talk) 01:22, 12 January 2008 (UTC)

Ok great yeah I kept an old copy/paste of the licence for reference:

The following photographs are available for commercial and non-commercial uses provided that the copyright information is kept intact and Deadenddays.com or Rocket Ace Moving Pictures is somehow attributed. For Non-commercial use only (fan created wallpaper... etc) the copyright information may be altered (reduced, design changed) provided that the finished work is freely distributed and a copy is sent to info@deadenddays.com

I think what happened is that I missed the full stop when reading through the text the first couple times. With a fresh look on it today, I see your point.

That aside, now that press photos are now licenced CC-by-2.5-ca it puts my concerns to rest and is far less complicated. Setting to resolved. --Breno ^talk 12:55, 12 January 2008 (UTC)
