[edit] Image:Toni Braxton LV Flamingo.jpg

while the image itself is a free image, the focus of the photo, the Toni Braxton image on the side of the building, is likely a copyrighted image. Save-Me-Oprah(talk) 05:25, 28 February 2008 (UTC)

but the image is free, so what is the problem? --Mike Russell 00:57, 1 March 2008 (UTC)
Image kept. The image is of the Flamingo Hilton. The Toni Braxton image and Diet Pepsi logo are incidental. -Nv8200p talk 17:29, 30 March 2008 (UTC)

This image has no source information; indeed the information provided seems to indicate that the uploader found it randomly on some website or another. It is tagged GFDL, but this claim does not seem to be credible. <eleland/talkedits> 06:50, 28 February 2008 (UTC)

Beatles image is probably copyrighted. Would need to black out the image to make this image free. Lea (talk) 07:51, 28 February 2008 (UTC)

Image kept. Uploader provided new image at http://img148.imageshack.us/img148/4435/180px22acdwm7.jpg. I uploaded new image and deleted image with Beatles screenshot. -Nv8200p talk 17:44, 30 March 2008 (UTC)

Does not have fair use rationale. User has history of uploading non-free images and claiming as "PD-Self". (EhJJ)TALK 16:28, 28 February 2008 (UTC)

Uploader claims to be author, but this is almost certainly a screencap from the "Hi-5" television show. — Dppowell (talk) 19:02, 28 February 2008 (UTC).

Okay. The other images, one of which was a publicity shot (not a stage photo) were speedily deleted as copyvios. More on your talk page. Dppowell (talk) 20:42, 28 February 2008 (UTC)

Does this violate the trademark for Lego figures, I'm not sure... RT | Talk 19:27, 28 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Image:Greenscare.jpg

I can't see any indication on the website this comes from that it's actually a free image. P4k (talk) 21:45, 28 February 2008 (UTC)

  • PDF source included, the first alternative source below states that the leaflet is to download and freely distribute. Online would therefore be inclusive in this. Blueberrypie12 (talk) 21:45, 28 February 2008 (UTC)
That doesn't mean it's licensed under a creative commons license or "free" in the way I'm talking about (see Wikipedia:Image_use_policy#Free_licenses, for instance).P4k (talk) 22:02, 28 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Image:ArrowTre.jpg

Inaccurate license. Apparently "The general rule is that content on Indymedia sites can be freely reproduced for non-commercial purposes," but that's not helpful. P4k (talk) 21:48, 28 February 2008 (UTC)

  • Additional copyright and detail added. Blueberrypie12 (talk) 21:48, 28 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Image:JeffLuers.jpg

licensing claims are all over the place, not likely this is actually free. P4k (talk) 21:54, 28 February 2008 (UTC)

  • I will correct the prior picture you have mentioned. If you look at the other two links you will clearly see this is the guy. I know I uploaded a picture under the wrong name before, but if you check the additional sources you will see this his definately him, no questions about it. The source comes from a prisoner support group which is an open "free" domain, as well as the eco-terrorist profile picture of him, which is the same. Blueberrypie12 (talk) 21:54, 28 February 2008 (UTC)
I'm sorry for being unclear. I know it's Jeff Luers, I'm saying that the image is probably copyrighted--I can't see anything on the site that states that it isn't.P4k (talk) 22:05, 28 February 2008 (UTC)
I had a look as well and couldn't find anything. Basically all pictures of ALF/ELF prisoners taken by and for supporters (as link shows) can be used for any support group. No SG has any copyright over the picture from another, as it's for the benefit of the prisoner. This has been a long and established tradition, similar to the picture / media from the ALF/ELF actions. Blueberrypie12 (talk) 22:39, 28 February 2008 (UTC)
This sounds pretty implausible to me. Anyway Luers isn't even an ELF member (whatever that means).P4k (talk) 00:59, 1 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Image:Longblacktrain.jpg

Claims to be free image; however, no evidence that this is so. This is the cover to a major label album that was released in 2003, so I REALLY doubt that it's been released into PD. Ten Pound Hammer and his otters(Broken clamshellsOtter chirps) 22:12, 28 February 2008 (UTC)
