Near North Side
OKay, sorry about that. Also, how do I get a cool-looking page like yours? I reside in Houston (west side). I also belong to Houston's forum, HAIF.
- No problem. Cool? Thanks. I thought it was sorta boring. It's just the standard user boxes and such. Cheers, Postoak 19:03, 1 July 2007 (UTC)
Luggage links
Hello I'm Kimberly. I want to ask why you delete my links. There is my website alltravelluggage.com which is full of information and i set links exactly to the review pages( Delsey luggage page). What is wrong
Johnson Space Center sandbox
Not a problem, it just shows up as "blanked the page" in Recent changes, which draws eyes. :) Corvus cornix 05:13, 4 July 2007 (UTC)

Replaceable fair use Image:TMC_4.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:TMC_4.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
- On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that fair use images which could be replaced by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted 7 days after this notification, per our Fair Use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. – Quadell (talk) (random) 23:31, 14 July 2007 (UTC)
Working on HFD
I'm currently working on something for HFD if you're interested. User:Hourick/HFD is the sandbox. Feel free to incorporate anything on the main page you find interesting, or even edit this page.
Regards,
- OK, great. I wasn't aware you were in sandbox mode. This in an incedible effort. I know your still formulating the article, but if I could offer a couple of suggestions: please reference as much as possible and convert lists/bulleted items to prose. This article could easily be GA or even FA with some work. Thanks, Postoak 20:05, 15 July 2007 (UTC)
- Well, most of what I got is from Houston Firefighter Museum, so that will be the main reference. The wording is proving to be the biggest challenge as well as how to put it in some way that will make sense to the reader without simply staring at a jumble of words. --Hourick 20:39, 15 July 2007 (UTC)
- Is this going to part of the HFD article? It might work better as separate article that is linked from the main HFD article since there is so much information. Try to outline the article first, that usually helps with organization. Postoak 20:49, 15 July 2007 (UTC)
- My intention is to have it as a seperate part of the main HFD page. The main HFD page would have a snippet or two of the information. I agree, it's way too much information for the HFD page, but it would be nice if it can be incorporated, though, but I doubt it would flow well.--Hourick 21:21, 15 July 2007 (UTC)

It's Almost done, was wondering if you can take a peek at it, it's about a weeks away from it's own article, I just have to add a few pictures that are appropriate.
- Great job, hope you didn't mind that I edited some minor items at beginning of the article. Gotta run, but I'd like to read the rest of it later. Postoak 05:22, 24 July 2007 (UTC)
- No Worries. I need a new set of eyes to look the stuff and I appreciate it--Hourick 09:59, 24 July 2007 (UTC)

Sorry about that. I just started popups and though I reverted his edit, but I accidently reverted yours back to his. New England (C) (H) 05:57, 17 July 2007 (UTC)

- You didn't get a final warning. Postoak 06:03, 17 July 2007 (UTC)
Don't worry about it, no harm was done. New England (C) (H) 08:15, 17 July 2007 (UTC)
i see
that you broke the 3RR on King of the hill, with four reverts. i am not saying it is bad, but you should be more careful. if it is vandalism that you are reverting, i am sure someone else will revert it. see [2] to know what to do. be careful. = ) Best Wishes, Ono 16:30, 18 July 2007 (UTC)
- There is a specific 'simple and obvious vandalism' exclusion to WP:3RR. The material he was reverting certainly falls within that domain. Kuru talk 22:06, 18 July 2007 (UTC)
Foreign Consulates
Hey Postoak
I just have a quick question how were you able to create the portal for the city of Houston? I would be interested in seeing how you did that so I can add that to a few cities. Also for more about the foreign consulate of Houston i left a few notes in the discussion pageDaltnpapi4u 01:30, 23 July 2007 (UTC)
Consulates
thanks for the notes. unfortantly i have someone requesting to delete the houston consulate list as well as 7 others because it doesnt meet what he thinks should be on Daltnpapi4u 06:07, 23 July 2007 (UTC)
- Yes, I noticed that it had a speedy delete tag. I think that the list is notable because Houston ranks in the top three US cities in the number of consular offices, which is notable in itself. The list supports this fact. Oh well, let's see what happens. Also, please see Wikipedia:Portal and Wikipedia:Portal/Instructions for more about creating portals. Thanks, Postoak 07:13, 23 July 2007 (UTC)
History of HPD
Hi again, starting the rough edit of the history of HPD in my sandbox here: User:Hourick/HPD. This is going to be it's own article from the main HPD page.
I'm currently in the middle of wikifying and doing some rough edits, figured you might want to take a peek at it before it's final cut. It's always good to have a fresh pair of eyes to look at it. So feel free to add to it if you or anyone you know might find it that it needs it.

Tool Recovery, Help?
Hey, Just had to format my HD and was wondering if you can help me require some tools/booksmarks that I had? Mostly just helping with links. I'd appreciate it if you can help, thanks! --Hourick 02:22, 28 August 2007 (UTC)
- Sure, let me know how I can help out. Postoak 13:06, 28 August 2007 (UTC)

Newest vandalism
Are we getting towards the point where we have to ask for further range blocking of AT&T? What is it going to take for them to listen to us, that Mmbabies should not have an internet connection? It's like he took the LTA as an honor rather than a deterrent. Nate 03:24, 2 September 2007 (UTC)
- I'm not sure about the range blocking, but you have a great point about the LTA. He is thriving on the attention; this is exactly what he wants. He is thrilled that so many people are watching him. He has increased the death threats because that really gets the attention here. I personally feel that this is a very lonely person that doesn't get much interaction with anyone. This is one place he gets lots of attention. I don't think anyone can prevent him from having an Internet connection, but I think Wikipedia should require named accounts for the IP range if that is possible. I'm not sure if that would help either, but it could slow him down. Postoak 03:42, 2 September 2007 (UTC)
- If it helps (and I hope it's approved), I just asked for a semi protect on the LTA talk and article, Gospel Bill's talk page and Nicole C. Mullen, both the article and talk. Nate 03:50, 2 September 2007 (UTC)
Reporting IPs
Hello - you recently reported an IP at WP:AIV. In that report, you said "actions evidently indicate a vandalism only account." However, we very rarely indef-block IP addresses, mainly because most IPs are dynamic and the user behind the IP can change often. So reporting that an IP as a "vandalism only account" is not really necessary. Thanks, ugen64 05:10, 2 September 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks, however I think you understood the point I was making from the repeated vandalisms to the main page. Postoak 05:18, 2 September 2007 (UTC)

By the time I went to revert Azumanga1's talk page you had it done and were on to reverting others. Good job on the speedy reverts :) - NeutralHomer T:C 04:41, 3 September 2007 (UTC)

- There's a week of semi-protect on it. Nate 05:05, 4 September 2007 (UTC)
- That's good, thanks for the update. Postoak 05:07, 4 September 2007 (UTC)

VERY URGENT!!!
Someone, I think the use "cryptic" who deosn't have any proper discussion page, has deleted my well-written articles "L Lidströmer" and "femmage". Both didn't contain anything incorrect and they where full of references. It has been deleted by him before. He doesn't show any respect to my hard work with these pages. I have NO copies and all my research material has been lost now. I wan't it back. This is really urgent. I see this a proclamation of war with this unjustified vandalism. VERY URGENT!!!
Thanks, but this is so complicated, I don't know all these things, and I am very sad that someone has deleted everything. I tried to get into the "noticeboard"-site, but I'm afraid of posing the questions wrongly, since I don't know much about "talk" ETC. You seem to be very experienced, do you think you could just ask for undeletion, so that we at least could have a debate on my pages and then hopefully have a protection of the page, and I would also like to report the user "cryptic" who deletes everything. I tried to write to "cryptic" but his talk page didn't work, and when I found a space to wirte his page disappeared, maybe it was fault, and I couldn't back the history of that page. To early in the morning! Thank you if you could help me? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Nike George (talk • contribs) 07:46, 15 September 2007 (UTC)
- Sorry, I don't see where you made an attempt to discuss this at the noticeboard. Your article might have been moved and not deleted. They can help you there. Postoak 07:54, 15 September 2007 (UTC)

Speedy deletion criteria
Hi Postoak! Good work on the new-page watching front. Just a reminder, though, that works of fiction are not speedyable under WP:CSD. (I removed the tag on Mercury (Ben Bova). Cheers, --Paul Erik 05:18, 18 September 2007 (UTC)
RE: Thanks
Thanks for the space :) Where and how have you been? Postoak 04:05, 11 September 2007 (UTC)
- I am fine and have been busy with work. As of March 2007, I got a new job in Uptown as an internal auditor and am enjoying it a lot. Being an internal auditor is exactly what I have been wanting to do after I graduated with my Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accounting. Just to let you know what I do, being an internal auditor entails performing financial and operational audits, and SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley) compliance testing. I travel about 65% of the time and am currently in South Carolina right now—enjoying my time in The South—until Friday.
- When you get a chance, go over to User_talk:Hourick and explain to him that there is only ONE campus of University of Houston! He reverted my edit through ignorance and so I had to explain the hierarchy of the UH System on his talk page; however, it is rather long. So if you can explain to him in a better and shorter way, please do. RJN 03:21, 21 September 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for the reversion of my talk page. It's the third time in a week that he's hit it, and I think I might have to ask for a semi-protect. Nate 05:06, 24 September 2007 (UTC)
H-town mall list
As far as lists go around here, there is so much flexibility as to what content constitutes a "list" (besides WP:CSL). I figured Houston could be compared to similar cities of size for the associated article content. I looked at the content of existing lists for the City of Chicago (and its state) to check how things stack for another area for comparison. List of airports in the Chicago area and List of protected areas of Illinois were two articles that looked representative for the reader to find info. They look decent for info at the fingertips, and I think we should "beef up" the Houston area mall list with some text & photos. All of the content that is in the Houston mall list could be merged into another article as it is now. But check this out - Why do we have this article: List of shopping malls in the United States and yet this category: Category:Shopping malls in the United States? Should the US list of malls be AfD'd for the same reasoning?
I don't know if I have helped you here or not to be honest with you. Policies & guidelines are very often just considered suggestions on this project lately. It is a dangerous trend and if it is not kept in check, Wikipedia will be a "flavor of the day", "post it if you like it" website instead of maintaining the integrity of a true encyclopedia. You may be wondering about what I am referring to. Some of the stuff I have seen lately on the project in certain areas doesn't look too good. You take care & let me know if I can help you somehow (trust me, I'm not puuuurrrrfect ;-) Later JungleCat Shiny!/Oohhh! 23:59, 27 September 2007 (UTC)

Foreign Consulates
Hi Postoak,
I am going to need your help again. another user wants to have all foreign consulate deleted is there any way to make sure that all future ones arent deleted? Should I possibly contact the wiki monitor that took care of all these earlier this year that stated they were good to keep?
Thanks
An article you recently created, List of foreign consulates in Oklahoma City, has been listed for deletion because it possibly fails Wikipedia's notability standards. See Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of foreign consulates in Oklahoma City for discussion. Thanks. Okiefromokla•talk 02:18, 28 October 2007 (UTC)
