Postcards from God: The Sister Wendy Musical is a British musical about Sister Wendy Beckett, the noted art critic and nun of the order of the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur.
The show premiered in London in January 2007 at Jermyn Street Theatre in London's West End with much-loved musical theatre actress Myra Sands in the title role, attracting press coverage from all of London's broadsheet newspapers, receiving three-star reviews in Metro, Time Out and The Sunday Telegraph as well as being featured on BBC London News and Front Row on BBC Radio Four.
The premiere production was Directed by Omar F. Okai, with Musical Arrangements by Tyrone Landau and Executive Produced by Simon James Collier, who went on to purchase the rights for The Okai Collier Company. Sister Wendy Beckett even gave the production her personal blessing live on BBC Radio Two, describing the show's creator Marcus Reeves as ‘a man of enormous imagination’. A new version of the show will open at Hackney Empire Studio Theatre in March 2008, with a new script and score by Marcus Reeves, again directed by Okai and produced by Collier, in association with Mr. Theatre and Hackney Empire Limited.
