The period of Chinese history following the fall of the last Imperial Dynasty, the Qing Dynasty. This period begins in 1911, and continues to the present day. It includes the founding of the Republic of China, the warlord period, the Northern Expedition, and the rise of the Communist Party of China, up to the present. It is truly a period of turbulent change in Chinese history.
