[edit] Summary

Postcard: Aerial view, Lorain, Ohio, looking north toward Lake Erie, about 1908 to 1918

Description: Caption on picture side of card: "Lorain, Oh., view of Lorain looking north toward Lake Erie"; a divided-back postcard printed in Germany, indicating the card was published between 1908 (after the divided-back postcard era) and before 1918 (when United States postcards were no longer printed in Germany due to World War I). The larger red-brick church in the center is labeled "St. John's Evangelical Church", and beside it, just to the left (north), the smaller "Church of the Redeemer". The words on the tiny flag seen near the church steeple is not readable in this picture.

Store Web page shows address side of card. Along left side: "PUBLISHED BY BIEHZ [sp?] BOOK STORE, LORAIN, OHIO 4567 / MADE IN GERMANY" In upper righthand corner: "Place the Stamp Here / One Cent for / United States and / Island Possessions, / Cuba, Canada and / Mexico. / Two Cents / For Foreign"
