My name is Grant and I'm a history buff (Just look at my user name)and a have a degree in History w/ a minor in philosophy. I hail from Oklahoma and am an alumni of Oklahoma State University. I love the whole concept of wikipedia, that is, intelligent people can create their own encyclopedia about any topics they want. Topics don't have to be mainstream, it's truly anything goes around here. Anywhere that accurate information (about anything) can be collected is truly a great thing. It's almost as if it is a latter-day library of Alexandria, a gathering of all the information that can be recorded by those with the dedication to do it. I know that there is a potential for abuse but that's what admins are for. The overwhelming majority of articles, especially on well-known topics, are well written, organized, researched, thorough, and show an amazing amount of dedication. I can't wait to contribute to the site in a significant and meaningful way.

P.S. Great site for Roman Emperors even through the Byzantine period is below In a way the site is like Wikipedia in that the articles for each emperor are written by scholar. Therefore you'll likely find much more info on the likes of Augustus and Constantine than you will on Septimus Severus or Antoninus Pius. http://www.roman-emperors.org/
