Porvorim

Porvorim (Konkani: परवरी /pɔrʋɔrĩ/) is the legislative capital of the state of Goa, India. It is situated on the right bank (north bank) of the river Mandovi. The administrative capital Panaji (Panjim) is located on the opposite bank. Porvorim is considered an upmarket residential area as it lies on the prime Mumbai-Goa highway NH-17. There are many institutions in Porvorim, most notable is the catering college. Goa Assembly is located here.
The Directorate of Technical education, Goa Board and quite a few schools including Vidya Prabodhini High School (L.D. Samant Memorial High School) & college, Holy Family High School, Acdil High School are a part of this clean sub-urban locality. Because of its serenity, peace and privacy, it is now becoming the residential hotsppot as it is just 2-3 km from the Goan capital Panaji.
Porvorim is place where you can find peace of mind. Connecting to the major beaches like Calangute, Vagator, Anjuna and ofcourse Miramar through Chowgam road.
Mapusa is 7-8Km away from Porvorim.
