Port of Seven Seas is a 1938 film starring Wallace Beery. The supporting cast includes Frank Morgan and Maureen O'Sullivan. The movie was written by Preston Sturges and directed by James Whale (director of Frankenstein). The cinematography is by Karl Freund, cinematographer for Fritz Lang's Metropolis and the television series I Love Lucy.
The plot was adapted from from Marcel Pagnol's "Fanny" trilogy of plays, Fanny, Marius, and César.
