Porpoise Song (Theme from Head) is a song written by Gerry Goffin and Carole King, with the most famous recording of the song being by pop/rock quartet The Monkees on their album Head. Their version was released as a single in 1968, and reached #62 on the Billboard Hot 100. Although a flop when it was originally released, the song has since become a minor "cult classic", and appears on several "Greatest hits" albums by The Monkees. It was also featured in The Monkees' feature film, Head, which was also released in 1968.
