[edit] I hope you kept the native image
Callcentermonkey, I hope you kept the version of this image in the native format for your editor. Last I checked, as the supply of MAX cars went up, Tri-Met wanted to extend the Red Line to Hatfield. Will (Talk - contribs) 14:45, 21 October 2006 (UTC)

- No, I didn't, as it was a LOT more work; I made this decison knowing that changes are going to be far and few in between, and have no problem redoing it should the need arise, though the next expected one was the Green Line addition. Should they extend it to Hatfield, it's minor to add it in its current format. I use Paint Shop Pro, for the record.
[edit] Any chance of a SVG version?
I think it might make more sense. Will (Talk - contribs) 14:47, 21 October 2006 (UTC)

- What's SVG? Standard Vector Graphics? I would be more than happy to make this better, upon recommendations. I'm currently unemployed, so have a lot of time on my hands, lol.

You are almost right about Scalable Vector Graphics. However, editors that support SVG are few and far between from what I have heard. However, they are probably free. I omited a link to the Wikipedia page in my original post above because I figured anyone with a decent graphics editor would know what it was. I suggest you double check and verify that PSP can't save SVG. You never know. Also, for images like that, you should always save a copy in PSP's native vector format. Makes even changes like a typo fix a snap.
As for the unemployed part, that sounds familar. I appear to be about to become formally disabled according to the Social Security Administration due to problems holding down jobs over the years.

- PSP does indeed read such files (Something I've never complained about, as it's read anything I've ever had to throw at it), however, it does not save to them. I do like using open-source (notice I use .png whenever possible). I am loathe to use anything but PSP through sheer inertia--I've been using it since v3.
- P.S. I grabbed Inkscape, which uses SVG (linking so anyone else can keep up with this Talk) as its native format, and will export to .png. I'll try to work with it a little, and see if .svg is feasible for me (i.e., is it going to be frustrating to use, or will I adapt easily). Wish me luck!
[edit] Suggestions for better legend
I noticed that in the legend, you have the routes represented by something that looks like your symbol for a stop. You should consider changing the routes to stripes. Will (Talk - contribs) 05:31, 23 October 2006 (UTC)

- Perhaps changing it to a diamond shape? (I had thought of doing zones as striped) I was trying to keep a clean, simple look to it; I am by no means a graphic designer :)
I was thinking of a single stripe that changed color for each row in the legend. This mimicks what you have in the actual route better. Will (Talk - contribs) 05:46, 24 October 2006 (UTC)
