Deutsch: Die mittelalterliche Teufelsbrücke von 1283 in Martorell (Katalonien, Spanien). Das gotische Bauwerk liegt auf der antiken Via Augusta und überspannt den Fluß Llobregat auf den Fundamenten einer römischen Vorgängerbrücke. Die lichte Spannweite des zentralen Spitzbogens beträgt eindrucksvolle 37,3 m. Ein römischer Triumphbogen markiert den östlichen Zugang. Die Brücke wurde 1939 im Spanischen Bürgerkrieg von republikanischen Truppen auf dem Rückzug zerstört und 1963 in ihrer alten Form wiederaufgebaut.
English: The medieval Devil's bridge from 1283 in Martorell, Catalonia, Spain. The gothic structure is part of the ancient Via Augusta and crosses the river Llobregat on the foundations of a former Roman bridge. The clear span of the central pointed arch is impressive 37.3 m. A Roman triumphal arch marks the eastern entrance. In 1939, the bridge was destroyed by retreating Republican troops during the Spanish civil war and rebuilt in 1963 in a form generally similar to the gothic structure.
