[edit] Vandalism accusations

Hi. I saw your characterization of another editor's edits[1][2] as "sloppy vandalism".[3]

I suggest caution in using the term "vandalism" since, inappropriately applied, it could be construed at a minimum as a breach of civility and in some cases even a personal attack. Take a look at:

I think you'll see what I mean after looking at these. In fact, inappropriately bandying that term around could get you in more trouble than the person you direct it at; I've seen this happen several times.

Please take my comments as a friendly observation and not a stiff reproach. I encourage you to reconsider and retract the vandalism charge you leveled at Pleclech, both in your edit summary and on his talk page. This doesn't mean you have to agree with Pleclech's edit; in fact, I encourage you to engage with him/her civilly either on his talk page or the article's talk page if you don't think it was correct. I see your point(s). I will revise it. The deletions were, however, both needless and sloppy. (The latter because they left some odd bits of language left over that made no sense without the deleted material.)--Politophile 04:28, 21 April 2007 (UTC)

Re Tom G. Palmer it would have stayed indefinitely in its unsourced state if I has not removed what were assertions. They were probably correct assertions, but no more than, that until sourced. The class of articles I clean has plenty of sockpuppets (thats not an accusation) with time to find the sources and fix the grammar - they just need waking up. Pleclech 11:58, 21 April 2007 (UTC)
How do you go about sourcing things like what school he graduated from? If it's on his official bio at his work, is that good enough? Does someone have to write to the college for a letter and then post a PDF of it? Ditto for work history, if it's on a resume or on an official bio--Politophile 21:48, 22 April 2007 (UTC)
