[edit] Scope

Will this article be only be about the relations of the modern states, or will it include historic relations such as Poland and the West Ukrainian National Republic? Ostap 02:35, 19 March 2008 (UTC)

I feel that a brief historical overview would be useful - with due weight and neutrality, to avoid slipping into historical rants.--Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| talk 02:20, 19 March 2008 (UTC)
I looked over a few other ___&___ relations articles, and found that most of them were really poorly done. There is no real good example to follow. How far back would the historical overview go? Ostap 02:35, 19 March 2008 (UTC)
The one I have written in the past is France-Poland relations (hmmm, shouldn't this article be Poland-Ukraine relations?). The main problem is lack of sources on modern relations (which are after all most important). I think we can have a few words even on Polish-Cossack relations - but we should try to keep the focus on the modern day.--Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| talk 03:00, 19 March 2008 (UTC)
Oops. Looks like I missed that one. I looked at the Greek Polish one. Ostap 03:18, 19 March 2008 (UTC)
Exception to the rule, you are right. Polish-Lithuanian relations are not bad, but they are somewhat hijacked by more emotional, POVed edits (an issue compounded by the lack of good references; surprisingly we have plenty for this article). I hope that the historical section I have now written presents both a comprehensive and neutral picture. The modern relation section can be expanded with our refs (many good quality reliable sources are in further reading, and I saw quite a few other on Google Scholar - just didn't have the time and will to add them all).--Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| talk 04:47, 20 March 2008 (UTC)
