Feel free to state your position on the renaming proposal by beginning a new line in this section with *'''Support''' or *'''Oppose''', then sign your comment with ~~~~. Since polling is not a substitute for discussion, please explain your reasons, taking into account Wikipedia's naming conventions.
  • Support as nom. This page is barely even a stub, compared to the more significant pole shift theory page. Also, Polar shift currently redirects to pole shift theory, which is confusing. Polar Shift should either go straight to the theory page or become a disambiguation page. Oren0 16:32, 21 May 2007 (UTC)
  • Support. Polar Shift should redirect to pole shift theory as the like primary usage, with a {{redirect}} dablink at the top. –Pomte 01:43, 24 May 2007 (UTC)
  • Oppose. Could be, and is, handled by a dablink at the top of this page. I'm not convinced that pole shift theory is the primary usage of the capitalized title. Why would someone looking for the theory go out of his way to capitalize the second word? Dekimasuよ! 13:45, 24 May 2007 (UTC)
Comment: It's confusing that Polar Shift and Polar shift go to different places. To me, that's broken. Again, realize that this page is barely a stub. As for why someone would end up here, I somehow ended up here when I was looking for the theory which is why I proposed this move in the first place. Oren0 14:41, 24 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Discussion

Any additional comments:
  • Question How about creating a disambiguation page? There is always the possibility that other articles which might meet the notability requirement get created. A possible example would be Polar Shift: A Benefit for Antarctica. --Aarktica 17:35, 21 May 2007 (UTC)
I wouldn't be opposed to that if those pages are created. Currently, though, it seems to me that this page is of much lower importance than polar shift theory, and a better solution is a {{for}} tag at the top of the theory page that points here. Oren0 17:40, 21 May 2007 (UTC)
  • I have "been bold" and done the move ! -- Beardo 04:05, 25 May 2007 (UTC)
