Polokwane International Airport or Pietersburg International Airport (IATA: PTG[1], ICAO: FAPP) is an airport serving the city of Polokwane (known as Pietersburg until 2003) in the South African province of Limpopo. Also known as Gateway Airport, it is located 5 km north of the city.[3] The airport opened in 1996 on the site of a former Air Force Base.[4]
The airport has scheduled flights to Johannesburg, with four flights on weekdays, one flight on Saturday and two on Sunday.[5] It handles approximately 5,000 aircraft and 38,000 passengers per year.[4]
