[edit] How to Pronounce?
I don't speak French, but I'd like to pronounce "Poitiers" correctly. Could someone add, please?
Pwoteeay
It depends on how you would pronounce that! The letter you wrote as "o" is pronounced more like "Ah". And the "ee" does not make a syllable. There are only two syllables in Poitiers, and it rhymes with the French word "moitié". Marc van Leeuwen (talk) 15:03, 30 April 2008 (UTC)
[edit] No Economic Life
Doesn't Poitier produce anything? Aren't there any industries or companies? What do the people do to live? Isn't there a major university there? Does its history stop after the 1500s? Isn't one of the most important amusement parks in France--Futuroscope--located in Poitiers? Surely it must be mentioned. Vogensen There is a major university in Poitiers (the Univerity of Poitiers), which includes the Superior National School of Mechanics and Aeronautics.Sealpiano 23:06, 27 April 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Futuroscope
As it is said in the article about Futuroscpe, "It is located in the department of Vienne, 7 kilometres (5 miles) north of Poitiers, on the territory of the communes of Chasseneuil-du-Poitou and Jaunay-Clan". Do we have to consider it's located in Poitiers? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Lemecquisaitrien (talk • contribs) 20:49, 19 December 2007 (UTC)
Actually the Futuroscope is at 10 km of Poitiers. Marc van Leeuwen (talk) 15:06, 30 April 2008 (UTC)
