Description	An illustration of differences between PNG and JPG image quality. Pictured are two instances of a small, 60x80-pixel section of Quake III Arena q3dm0.png, an image originally captured from the computer game Quake III Arena. Both are enlarged 600% to more clearly show individual pixels. The left image is from the original PNG. The right image is from a JPG copy, which was produced by opening the original PNG in Adobe Photoshop and saving it at high image quality (9/12). Compression artifacts are most visible over the character's shoulders and around the reticle above the character's head.
