[edit] Summary

Copyright does not apply to this use of thecrest because school arms are being used to illustrate an article about the school. The arms are not used in such a way that a reader could be confused into believing that the article is written or authorised by the Plymouth College.

It is not a pseudo heraldic logo but is granted by letters patent by the College of Arms. Those interested will recognise the arms of Plymouth under those of Exeter and (in compressed form) of Cornwall. It incorporates the school motto variously translated from the latin but traditionally applied as 'God gives the Increase' leaving readers a free hand at its intended or actual significance or possible usefulness.
