Pljeskavica (Serbian: пљескавица) or Pleskavica (Macedonian: плескавица) is a hamburger dish popular, in most of the Balkans.

Pljeskavica is eaten in Serbia, Bosnia and Croatia and can be found in Slovenia, Hungary, Macedonia, Romania, Bulgaria and Montenegro. Traditional pljeskavica was made from a mixture of lamb or pork and beef, grilled along with onions and served hot on fresh somun with a thick pita bread. The best pljeskavica is said to be made in the town of Leskovac, Serbia.[citation needed]

Recently, pljeskavica has gained popularity in Europe and are served at many fast-food restaurants, mainly in Germany and Austria. It is often served with kaymak or ajvar and sometimes urnebes.

Macedonian pleskavica is usually made of beef, grilled with onions and served hot on a fresh lepinje. There are however, many other ways of serving it like Šarska and Ajdučka. Šarska pleskavica is made of beef but in the middle it is stuffed with kashkaval. Ajdučka pleskavica is made of beef mixed with smoked pork meat.
