Parts of this article are hard to follow and it would help if they were clarified. For example,
"Almond prices jumped 70 cents a pound this summer,"
It may be better to try something like "When almond prices jumped 70 cents a pound in the summer of 2007." Also, parts assume that the artical is about the USA agricultural industry while other parts try to be world-wide. It would help to either take a world approach throughout or clarify when a statement is specifically targeting the US.
