Play Radio UK was launched in October 2006 at the Play Radio UK broadcast centre which is based on the South coast of the UK in West Sussex and is the first British network to pioneer internet only broadcast as a one stop shop for all tastes. The studios boast state-of-the-art facilities and production equipment in order to produce CD or better quality broadcast at very small bandwidths.

The Internet radio network comprises eleven separate stations including two live stations: Play One UK and Play Two UK. Each of the other stations is dedicated specialist music including: Play Classical UK (featuring Mr. Alan Lambourn), Play Rock UK, Play Top40 UK, Play Country UK, Play Jazz UK, Play Love UK, Play Urban UK, Play Reggae UK and Play Dance UK.

The Play Radio UK brand is continually growing with new stations being added all the time and many more planned to provide more music variety to Internet users around the world.

As of the beginning of 2008 the listening figures had already risen to 3.4 million tune-ins a month across the network.
