Plan Jael

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Plan Jael was a plan employed by the Allies during World War II to deceive the Germans as to the true location of the D-Day invasion. It involved ascertaining the German high command's plans, and conducting disinformation and counterintelligence activities. This plan was primarily implemented by the British secret intelligence service (MI-6), the British counterintelligence agency (MI-5), and the United Sates intelligence service, the Office of Strategic Services (OSS). Churchill, who felt that “special means” were essential to the success of the war, championed plan Jael. It was renamed Plan Bodyguard.
