[edit] About Plaid Enterprises, Inc.
Plaid Enterprises, Inc., founded in 1976, is an arts and crafts manufacturer that produces paints, rubber stamps, stitchery, glass crafting supplies, fashion embellishments, etc. It is home to over 50 craft brands, including FolkArt®, FolkArt® One Stroke™, Bucilla®, All Night Media®, Mod Podge®, Simply®, and more.
Plaid's (late) founder David A. Cunningham aimed "to create a diversified yet synergistic company that would provide the most complete, comprehensive programs available to market and sell craft products." He named the company "Plaid," a word meaning "a series of lines that cross to form a pattern." He made his family tartan--the Cunningham plaid--the official company logo.
Plaid Enterprises, Inc., located in Norcross (Atlanta), Georgia, is a subsidiary of The Dyson-Kissner-Moran Corporation, a privately held New of York-based investment company.
[edit] Contaminated products
In 1986, the Consumer Product Safety Commission ordered the recall of "Folkart Extender #947", which had been manufactured with toxic ethylene glycol instead of propylene glycol.[1]
