Talk:Pittsburgh/Allegheny County Belt System
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
[edit] Stubs
Hello. Why are the articles for Red Belt, Blue Belt, Purple Belt, etc., sill considered stubs? I've seen the shows on WQED, haha, but I don't really know what more one can say about them on an encyclopedia. Just curious SolitaryThrush 04:49, 8 October 2006 (UTC)
- Actually, I'm more wondering why they need separate articles at all, for precisely the same reasons: there isn't much you can say about each one, and a regional road seems to be significantly less notable than a globally-recognized term for a martial arts rank. I'll watch this page for a while, and if there's no object, I'll try merging them into this article (which needs a bit of cleanup anyway). Tlesher 04:03, 9 June 2007 (UTC)
- I agree. You know...in the years I lived in Pittsburgh I NEVER heard ANYBODY--native, newcomer, whatever--refer to the belt system. I was Mr. Road Map but I could not have told you anything about which belt went where. I even remember people (including natives) make jokes about people's non-use of the color labels of the belt system. Of course, things could have changed in 15 years.
