Pirganj (Bengali: পীরগঞ্জ) is an Upazila of Rangpur District in the Division of Rajshahi, Bangladesh.

Pirganj is located at . It has 62172 units of house hold and total area 409.37 km².

As of 1991 Bangladesh census[1], Pirganj has a population of 303384. Males constitute are 50.72% of the population, and females 49.28%. This Upazila's eighteen up population is 154333. Pirganj has an average literacy rate of 26.5% (7+ years), and the national average of 32.4% literate. [2]

Pirganj has 15 Unions/Wards, 308 Mauzas/Mahallas, and 331 villages.
The unions are Chaitragol, Vendabari, Baro Dargah, Kumidpur, Madonkhali, Tukuria, Shaner Hut, Baro Alampur, Raipur, Pirganj, Panchgachi, Panbazer, Ramnathpur, Chatra and Kabilpur.

Pirganj is famous for Baro Bila (a large lake), Nil Daria (a village sarrounded by a lake)and Hati Banda Mosque, an old mosque with beautiful architectural design.

Shah Abdur Rouf College, Pirganj Government High School, Chander Bazer High School, Chatra High School and Jafar Para Madrasha.

One can travel from Dhaka to Pirganj by bus. Luxury buses start from Kallyanpur in Dhaka. It takes about five and half hours. Pirganj is about 60 kilometer from Bogra. It is on the way from Bogra to Rangpur. The distance from Bogra to Rangpur is about 100 kilometer. The road condition is fantastic.
There has been tremendous improvement in road communication within Pirganj Upazila in the recent years. All major commercial centers and tourist attractions are connected by pacca roadas. One can start jouney from Dhaperhat have a circular trip covering Chatra, Khalashpir, Vendabari, Baro Dargah, Shanerhat and Motherganj and come back to Dhaperhat.

Travellers may find it difficult to get a good accomdation in Pirganj. Rangpur, the nearest large town, has good accomodation for international and domestic travellers.
