PiQ (pronounced /piːk/) is an American popular culture magazine published by PiQ, LLC (which was then owned by A.D. Vision[1]) which launched in early March 2008[2][3] as a replacement to Newtype USA, which ceased publication in February 2008.[4] Subscribers to Newtype USA will receive two issues of PiQ for each remaining issue in their subscription.[3] The magazine had an initial 15,000 subscribers, a circulation of 100,000, and a cover price half that of Newtype USA.[5][6]

[edit] Content

In addition to covering anime and manga, the magazine has expanded coverage of other subjects beyond those covered by Newtype USA, including U.S. comics, high tech gadgetry, U.S. TV shows, U.S. movies, and gaming.[5][6] ADV Films released a mock-up cover in a press kit,[6] though it was apparently not supposed to be released to the public.[7] Unlike Newtype, PiQ does not include a preview DVD.
