Pinewood Christian Academy

Pinewood Christian Academy is a co-ed private school located in the small town of Bellville, Georgia. It was founded in 1970 and its first headmaster was Mr. Tab Smith. In 2005 it had over 600 students and more than 30 teachers. The percentage of "students of color" at Pinewood Christian Academy is 3%, compared to the Georgia Elementary and Secondary Average of 21%. The teacher-student ratio is 1:16 compared to the Georgia Elementary and Secondary Average of 1:10. Pinewood has a calendar year of 180 days and each school day is 7 hours.

Pinewood is currently in a construction phase which started in February of '08 that will be adding several new classrooms to the lower school and upper school. It is also receiving a new lunchroom with a capacity of 400 students. Its older lunchroom will be turned into a presentation room. The library for the school will now be moved to the lower school academic center, which is also receiving devolpment. The older library will now be offices. The construction is due to be complete in the fall of 2008.
