Pillow Fight Day

Pillow Fight Day is an organic event spawned from the Pillow fight flash mob that has taken on a semi-official form in recent years to receive an official date for the event around the world, which is March 22, 2008. On this date, pillow fights are set to occur in Boston, Budapest, Chicago, Copenhagen, London, New York City, Paris, Shanghai, Melbourne, Sydney, Vancouver, and Washington, DC. Cities such as San Francisco, which started an annual pillow fight, will continue to have the event on Valentine's Day.

While there is no official organization behind the fights, a set of rules have loosely been established to govern the event 1 2, which have been adapted from the 1999 film, Fight Club:

  • 1. Tell everyone you know about Pillow Fight.
  • 2. Tell EVERYONE you know about Pillow Fight.
  • 3. If someone whines or has no pillow, you cannot hit them.
  • 4. Everybody joins in the fight.
  • 5. One fight and only one fight at the designated time. No earlier.
  • 6. No tar, no heavy things in pillows.
  • 7. Pillow Fights will go on as long as they have to.
  • 8. If this is your first night at Pillow Fight, you have to fight.
