Pilayar is a highly intelligent god of Shiva.
[edit] Legends
According to legend, his head was created by lord Devi, lord Iva's wife, called Madavi. One morning she went to her shower and she needed somebody to look after her room and Siva's room. She created a wonderful little baby. Then she went to have her shower. While she was in the shower lord Shiva came in and asked the boy to go in his room but the boy wouldn't move. Then lord Shiva killed the boy with his forehead light. When Devi came out she was crying because Shiva killed her new born baby. Shiva told his men to find an animal in the north and bring it to him. They found an elephant first and the people went close and cut off the elephant's head and took it to lord Shiva then lord Shiva put the head on the dead boy and breathed life into the boys mouth. Then the boy was called Pilayar and was the keeper the mango of life.
