[edit] Price

Appraiser, I like the edits. Apparently the island was paid for with supplies and money valued at $200 at the time. Later congress agreed to pay $2,000 for the island. I have found no reference as to who, if anyone was actually paid. I need to make a visit the the MHS, and to the SMDSC and get more facts. Atom 22:28, 12 December 2006 (UTC)

Yeah; the article didn't really say what was actually paid. I thought the significant point was that whatever the Indians did get was orders of magnitude below what they should have gotten. Was the money just for the island, or for the 100,000 acres? I recommended the article for DYK, since it's less than 5 days old. Appraiser 01:08, 13 December 2006 (UTC)
