a canyon is a deep valley with steep sides canyons form where rivers wear away rock.water in rivers flow quickly through a channel.the water and small rocks and sand called sediment,the sediment comes into rocks near the channel wearing them down.Steep canyon walls have little dirt to hold plant roots.some plants grow on canyon floors near rivers such as grasses,trees,and wildflowers. CAVES OR CAVERNS/ a cave is another one of our landforms of the world a cave is a natural underground,void large enough for a human to enter.some people suggest that the term cave should only apply to only cavities. ISLANDS/an island is any peice of lnd that is completly surrounded by water in two dimintions,above high tide,and isolated from other sighnficant landmasses.thier are two main types of islands thier are continital islands and oceanic islands.ther is also artificial islands.sometimes volcanos form islands when hot magma boils deep in the earth it bubbles out of a volcano as lava the lava cools,hardens,and piles up on to the ocean
