Pierre Blaise (11 June 1955 - 31 August 1975) was discovered by director Louis Malle who gave him the leading role in his 1974 film Lacombe Lucien. Pierre Blaise spurned a cinema career to return to wood cutting in rural France, but only a year after the film, he was killed in a car accident.
