Van Heckman was born October 9th, 2003. Born with what some doctors would call "Vaders Syndrome". Later the doctors would realize that he did not have vaders but had so many problems that they did not know what to classify him as so just called him a "vaders baby". Within a few hours of Van’s birth he was in surgery and spent the next 90 days in the hospital. We have been in and out of the E.R. more times than I can count. Today Van is doing well on his way to being a normal three year old. If you look in the right places you can follow Van from birth until today. We update the site several times a week with new pictures. If you have any medical questions feel free to contact us. We have had several questions and comments emailed to us from all over the world. Vanheckman.com gets from 300-400 hits per week. Let us know what you think or if you have a child of similar problems please feel free to contact us with any questions or stories that you would like us to post.
