Honor to the forgotten victims/

On this spot, at Tiergartenstraße 4,/
from 1940, the first national-socialist /
mass murder was organized,/
named 'Action T4' after the address./

From 1939 to 1945, almost 200.000/
defenseless people were murdered./
Their lives were deemed 'unworthy of living'/
the action of murdering them was called/
'Euthanasia’ (good death). They died in the/

Harthelm, Pirna, Bernburg and Hadamar:/
they died facing firing squads,/
by starvation and poison./

The perpetrators were scientists, physicians,/
nurses, members of judicial body and the police,/
of the health and labor administrations./

The victims were poor, desperate, defiant/
or in need of help. They came from/
psychiatric hospitals and/
children's hospitals, from nursing homes/
and children's homes,/
from military hospitals and encampments./

The number of victims is enormous, small the number/
of convicted perpetrators.
