A Tribal Grappler named Pi, working under Yata (The Prophet) and CC Corp, first made her in charge of keeping an eye on Haseo.

Haseo is rescued by Pi in the dungeon when Haseo was partied with Silabus and Gaspard for the very first time. At the Beast Statue, Bordeaux and her group came to throw threats and harm. PKing Gaspard and ready to do more damage, they were interrupted by Pi's abrupt entrance. Pi merely seemed like she was calling a bluff. She even stated that she called the famous Anti-PK and Newb Support Guild called Moon Tree. At this, Bordeaux runs in fear of being in trouble from Kestrel's involvement with Haseo and Pi tells Haseo that he has a special power within his PC.
Although Haseo always claim that Pi is an old hag, Pi is actually around the age of 24. Pi is also the sister of Jun Bansyoya according to the "End of the World." She was just misunderstood in the heat of being a workaholic. She is probably the hardest to raise affection in although few greeting cards would do. Further involvement with Pi's real life makes her sound very self-protective from Haseo as she thinks Haseo is just joking. As for one, if you choose Haseo to send a greeting card of Flowers to Pi, she will think you are joking and question the motive. Choosing the 2nd reply of that topic "To my Beloved Pi. Love. Haseo. LOL" will cause her to think you are just baiting her and joking. However, she does recommend Atoli to you, but warns you to watch what you say, because Atoli is 'delicate'. Overall, she is very stable and tries to put off any unnecessary actions.
Pi comes out as Tarvos and she basically teaches Haseo how to fight using the Avatar. While teaching Haseo, she runs in to save Zelkova, the Guild Master of Moon Tree. Apparently, an AIDA targeted Zelkova at the time and Pi took the damage instead. Being infected with AIDA, Pi lost control and Tarvos went Berserk. Haseo, refusing Pi's instructions to call Kuhn the Propagation (Magus), changes form to Skeith and defeats Pi through Data Drain and restore her. After the scene, you can sort of see a side of Pi you would not see.
Pi is in a guild called Raven, which is an alias cover for G.U. The guild Raven is run by Yata and it is basically a guild of Epitaph Users. So far, known members are Yata, Pi, Kuhn(whom she has been quite close to), and Haseo. Sakubo (The Machinator) is not yet confirmed to be in G.U. although there is evidence that Bo using Sakubo can see Avatars. G.U. guild is under direct commands of CC Corp, as Yata, Pi, and Kuhn had stated.

Pi used to be the character Ender in the TaN Guild in the TV show .hack//ROOTS. The Guild was deleted and she made a new account under the name Pi.
- Pi is probably the most used character in parties since she has high HP relating to Haseo's and a good balance of attacks. At the beginning of volume 1, Pi is not accessible. Even when introduced to Pi, Haseo could only reach her for G.U. related purposes. Later on in the game, she is finally accessible almost all times except in Battle Arenas. After becoming the Emperor, Pi and Kuhn can be used for Battle Arenas.
Note: Pi and Kuhn are normally busy, so use Atoli and and Gaspared because they can bothe use magic while staying away from the enemies.
