Phildev is the online alias of Phillip John Devereux. He was born on 3 April 1985 at Princess Margaret Hospital in Perth, Western Australia to parents Kathryn Ruth Devereux (née Rohrlach) and Kenneth David Devereux. From his birth until the age of four the family, including brother Wayne Michael (b. 1982), lived in the suburb of Rockingham after which they moved south to the town of Collie. In early 1994, the family moved again, this time back to the metropolitan area, specifically Melville where they remained until settling in Dianella in January 2003.

Devereux has been actively contributing to Wikipedia since September 2005. He is a self-proclaimed geek and particularly enjoys contributing to the Albums WikiProject. He has spent considerable time and effort on creating and editing articles on the albums of Barbra Streisand because he felt their absence was a major oversight considering she is arguably the biggest selling female artist of all time.
