DOCTORAL STUDENT - University of Wollongong - Major project is exploring and unpacking the nature of social interaction as a means of assisting learning and development in the language classroom. I'm currently revising this work-in-progress and will update soon. - Theoretical framework: cultural historical activity theory, Bernstein's theory of pedagogic discourse; systemic functional linguistics - A related approach that I feel is important, and to which I hope to attend in the close future. - My recent thoughts on CHAT, the zone of proximal development (Vygotsky) and scaffolding with respect to second language teaching research.
