[edit] Response to Author's Identity/Sources

I too am a local resident and Wikipedian who has done extensive research on the history of Philipsburg. If you want the sources I can point you to Linn's History of Centre County. You can also look at the Journals of Hardman Philips at the Penn State Archives. The rest has been gleamed from published local histories, including Schultz's all on file at the Philipsburg library. As for the "biased" treatment of Conklin, it is only biased if you do not accept the reality that Front Street is being hurt by an elected official. Hillshirefarmssausage 17:34, 30 April 2007 (UTC)

I would love to see several photos added that highlight the beauty of Philipsburg. The currrent town hall and park come to mind. Philip's mannor, the Union and Anglican churches, and the Simmler house. If these could be added I think it would be of great help to the page. Hillshirefarmssausage 17:34, 30 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Author's Identity/Sources

As a local resident and Wikipedian, I'm curious as to where this person's information is coming from. The information on the Philips Settlement is more or less correct, but I can't be sure without sources, which I will check on in the real world, since I doubt alot of it exists online as of yet. The last paragraph of this article seems especially biased, as though they're resentful of Mr. Conklin for moving his office. While it was a shady move, yes, it doesn't require that kind of treatment on a resource site such as this. I'm going to speak to the comission ASAP and bring this page to their attention, so that the Borough of Philipsburg isn't misrepresented. Lostprophyt 17:59, 26 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] General

Philipsburg is home to quite a few Historical notables. A "Historical Places"-type section is probably in order. I'll be culling these together in the next few weeks as I find time. Also, I'll be snapping a few photos and uploading them to the Commons for some color. Lostprophyt 17:59, 26 April 2007 (UTC)
